GARGANTUA-84

A real-time, retro-pixel ray tracer of a spinning black hole and a traversable wormhole. Every pixel shoots a ray of light and bends it through curved spacetime, live on your GPU.

WHAT YOU'RE SEEING

BLACK HOLE

Gargantua from Interstellar, modeled as a fast-spinning Kerr black hole (a* = 0.998). Gravity bends light so you see the back of the glowing disk arching over and under the shadow. The side moving toward you looks brighter because of Doppler beaming.

WORMHOLE

A traversable Morris-Thorne / Ellis wormhole. Its throat works like a lens into another universe. Press FLY THROUGH (or just scroll in) to travel from Universe A (look for Saturn) into Universe B and back.
